Extension : Taq polymerase extends the DNA, giving new copies of DNA

T is cooled and primers bind to specific region

Denaturation : dna samples are heated and denatured

Used to amplify DNA (million of copies of a DNA segment) Amplification, includes primer region PCR is used on smaller regions

Repeat of dna sequence that is unique for each people STR size is diff for each person (diff number of repeats at locations in genome) Each person has a unique STR pattern
