#1
Front (Question)

Order of planets in our solar system

Back (Answer)

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune My Very Educated Mother Just Served Up Noodles

#2
Front (Question)

What is the difference between a planet and a moon

Back (Answer)

Planets orbit stars while moons orbit planets

#3
Front (Question)

Why do we have seasons

Back (Answer)

The Earth sits on an axis, which means that at any given point in the year, one hemisphere will be tilted towards the sun and one will be tilted away from the sun. The hemisphere tilted towards the sun will receive more intense sunlight and so will experience higher temperatures I.e. Summer. Over the course of the year, the Earth orbits the sun and the hemisphere tilting towards it will swap.

#4
Front (Question)

Why are seasons different

Back (Answer)

Seasons are different because for part of the year, the northern hemisphere will be tilting towards the sun resulting in a higher temperature while for the other part of the year the southern hemisphere will be tilting towards the sun resulting in a higher temperature. At this time, the northern hemisphere will be tilting away from the sun so will not be exposed to as much sun which means that it will have a lower temperature.

#5
Front (Question)

What effects can balanced forces have on an object.

Back (Answer)

Make a stationary object remain stationary or make a moving object continue.moving at a steady speed ina straight line

#6
Front (Question)

What are the effects unbalanced forces can have on an object

Back (Answer)

It can make a stationary object start moving/accelerate It can make a moving object Accelerates in the direction of the resultant force

#7
Front (Question)

How do we measure forces

Back (Answer)

Newtons (N) using a newton meter

#8
Front (Question)

What are the different types of energy

Back (Answer)

• Kinetic - Energy in movement (speed) • Gravitational - Energy stored by placing something high up (where it can fall) • Elastic - Energy stored in springs, etc. • Thermal - Energy stored as heat • Chemical - Stored in chemicals (food, petrol, etc.) • Nuclear - Stored in atomic nuclei (nuclear power) • Electrostatic - Stored as electric charge build up • Magnetic - Stored by separating magnets

#9
Front (Question)

What are energy transfers and what are the different types

Back (Answer)

An energy transfer is when you convert one type of energy to another 1.By Heating 2. By Radiation - By either light or sound 3. Electrically 4. Mechanically - by physically pushing or pulling, applying a force.

#10
Front (Question)

What are advantages and disadvantages of solar power

Back (Answer)

Advantages are it is most abundant renewable energy source and will never run out Disadvantages are it isn’t very efficient and their are intermittency issues based on locatopn

#11
Front (Question)

What are advantages and disadvantages of nuclear power

Back (Answer)

It has low operating costs and accounts for 11% of global electricity genration Many nuclear accidents occur and and nuclear waste is very dangerous

#12
Front (Question)

What are advantages and disadvantages of geothermal energy

Back (Answer)

Consistent power generation and is very reliable Accidental release of of CO2 and hydrogen sulfite emmisions

#13
Front (Question)

What are advantages and disadvantages of wind power

Back (Answer)

It has no direct co2 emissions and makes use of otherwise you useful products and won’t turn out It relies on unreliable product and is an eye sore

#14
Front (Question)

What is the difference between mass and witch

Back (Answer)

Weight changes and mass does not Weight is the force from gravity and is measure in Newtons Mass is the amount of matter in an object and is measure in g or kg

#15
Front (Question)

What is the calculation of weight

Back (Answer)

Weight = mass x g (10N/kg)

#16
Front (Question)

If a pencil case’s mass is 100g and you r on Earth what is its weight

Back (Answer)

1N

#17
Front (Question)

What is 1 N in kg

Back (Answer)

0.1kg =1N

#18
Front (Question)

What is the calculation for pressure

Back (Answer)

Force = pressure x area

#19
Front (Question)

To know how heat is transferred through infrared radiation

Back (Answer)

Heat/ thermal energy waves

#20
Front (Question)

To know how to identify different colours (white/black) as a good or bad absorber, or reflector of infrared radiation

Back (Answer)

Absorber will get the hottest Reflector will be the coldest

#21
Front (Question)

What is the equation for speed

Back (Answer)

Average speed=distance/time

#22
Front (Question)

How do you measure forces

Back (Answer)

Newtons (N)

#23
Front (Question)

What are the type of forces,

Back (Answer)

Weight – the Force due to Gravity • Friction • Drag – Air resistance or water resistance •Upthrust – Floating force • Tension – in rope • Elastic Force – in a spring • Contact Force – from a surface •Magnetic Force
