• spatial processing and navigation abilities • positioned posterior to the central sulcus, and the frontal lobe, anterior and super of the parieto-occipital sulcus and superior of the lateral sulcus or sylvan fissure • receives name from the bone above it- the parietal bone • in the anterior portion of this lobe lies the somatosensory or primary sensory cortex, it is the sensory system that responds to receptors such as; body position, pain, temperature, touch, taste, auditory, and smell

• processes visual images that come from your eyes - located at the back of the brain

• visual memory, object recognition, processing sound and smell, and understanding language • located inferior to the lateral sulcus or sylvian fissure and is positioned between the frontal and occipital lobe
