A eukaryotic chromosome is made up of linear and tightly packed DNA and proteins called Histones. A chromosome consists of two chromatids and each chromatid consists of a p arm and an q arm. The chromatids are attached to each other at the centromere. At the end of each chromatid is a telomere, which consists of repetitive DNA, that protects the strand.
