#1
Front (Question)

How does the amount of reactant that’s present change during a reaction?

Back (Answer)

The amount of each reactant will decrease over the course of the reaction, as the reactants get used up when they are converted into products

#2
Front (Question)

On a graph of product formed against time, what does a steep slope show?

Back (Answer)

The steepness of the slope on a rate graph gives you an idea of how fast the rate of reaction is/ how quickly the product is being formed (or reactant is being used up). A steep slope shows the rate of reaction is high/ the product is being formed quickly.

#3
Front (Question)

51, 3 Look at the graph below. Which is the fastest reaction?Which is the slowest reaction? How does the graph show reaction B has finished?

Back (Answer)

Reaction A is the fastest reaction, as it has the curve with the steepest slope. Reaction C is the slowest reaction, as it has the curve with the most shallow slope. Reaction B finished at the point when the lines become flat (as this shows no more product is being formed).

#4
Front (Question)

Describe what needs to happen in order for two particles to react with each other.

Back (Answer)

For a reaction to be successful, the particles must collide with enough energy .

#5
Front (Question)

Recation D has a higher activation energy than reaction E. If both reactions are carried out under the same conditions, predict which will have a higher rate and explain why.

Back (Answer)

Reaction E would most likely have a higher reaction rate than reaction D. The activation energy for reaction E is lower, so at the same temperature, a greater propotion of the reactant particles would have enough energy to reactin reaction E than in reaction D.
