Ok . The significance of Jamestown is that it is the first permanent English colony in the New World to settle. Failures of Jamestown was that they were mostly noblemen or gentlemen and they thought of themselves as too good to work so at the start they were losing resources like food from them. Also their settlement was right near the Powhatan Indians which they view English as violent so they were suspicious.. Some success is that they stayed a colony for a while because when they were in a tough time and while leaving a new ship came with supplies and food and convinced them to stay for a permanent colony. They got tobacco seeds which were rare and made a profitable cash crop. The significance of the house of burgesses is that it was the first representative assembly in America for passing good laws to the colony.
