Front (Question)

State 5 points that sum up PCR

Back (Answer)

• PCR is a technique by which any sequence of DNA can be cloned or amplified • There are no need for cloning vectors, or transformation of bacterial cells followed by screening programme • DNA is amplified entirely in vitro, in an automated system involving a thermocycler • PCR is rapid and selective that can produce billions of coies of DNA sequences in a few hours. • This is much faster than the time taken for transformation of bacteria.
