What are the six hypothesis and theories that try to explain the origin of life?
Panspermia, RNA, Chilly start, Deep-sea vents, Clay Community, Electric spark
Concept: Period of coldness, water was preserved in that temperature that protects it from the destruction of the UV rays of the sun. the organic molecule trapped in the ice reacted with one another forming complex molecules
Chilly Start
It suggests that life began at hydrothermal vents. These vents release hydrogen rich molecules. Due to high concentration of hydrogen rich molecules, it reacts and provides the formation of molecules essential for life.
Deep-sea Vents
Clay is like plasma membrane that covers the crystals. It evolved through time and reaction within the clay occurred then replication of organic molecules. These organic molecules turned into complex molecules into complex organisms
Clay Community
The work of Urey and Miller. They made a prototype of the earth’s earlier existence.
Electric Spark
a soup of different organic molecules coming from the earth’s surface. From there, different microbes emerged. (concept of Oparin and Haldyn)
Primordial Soup
Life was brought to Earth from space. A meteor, rocks, and martian meteorites brought life to Earth, particularly from Mars.
Theory of Panspermia
Smaller molecules interacting with one another through cycles of reactions then eventually bigger organisms were formed.
RNA
What does RNA stand for?
Ribonucleic Acid
