how do vaccines work
Vaccines use dead or weakened viruses to trick our bodies into thinking we have already had the disease. When you get a vaccine, your immune system responds to these weakened ‘invaders’ and creates antibodies to protect you against future infection. It has special ‘memory’ cells that remember and recognise specific germs or viruses. When you come across that virus in the future, your immune system rapidly produces antibodies to destroy it. In some cases, you may still get a less serious form of the illness. Vaccines protect you from the more dangerous effects and helps you recover faster.
How do antibiotics work
Antibiotics treat Trusted bacterial infections either by killing bacteria or slowing and suspending its growth. They do this by: • attacking the wall or coating surrounding bacteria • interfering with bacteria reproduction • blocking protein production in bacteria
what are the limitations of antibiotics
your body can build a resistance to antibiotic drugs, which could cause antibiotics to become less effective. One reason for humans building a tolerance to antibiotics is meat consumption. Commonly animals are fed many antibiotics due to poor conditions to stop diseases. When humans eat these animals they are also consuming antibiotics.
